Restasis Eye Drops 0.05%
Restasis Eye drops contain cyclosporine 0.05%, a medication used to increase natural tear production in conditions where dry eye is a problem.
Tear production may be reduced leading to dry eyes in a chronic condition called keratoconjunctivitis sicca. This inflammatory condition prevents the production of sufficient tears to protect the cornea and surface of the eye. Sometimes this condition is caused by other medications such as isotretinoin as a side effect, or there may be no known cause.
Restasis inhibits the product of inflammatory substances that lead to dry eye. Treatment consists of one drop to both eyes every twelve hours.
